In “Respite,” the fifth episode of the upcoming season, we pick up the morning after and spend a few cozy moments with the staff under the stairs — Daisy, Elswith, the cook, Nora — as the house recovers from what makes the second attack on its sanctity.

Summary

There are spoilers below. Stay frosty.

Nora tends to Symphony’s wound in the closest thing Merchant’s Row has to an infirmary: the kitchen. They are joined by gawkers taken with the drama, and Asta spins a suitable and mostly truthful yarn.

Hector’s arrival that morning comes with news: the rogue was caught and he’s being held at Brissig’s Watch. Symphony needs to talk to him, and so Asta deftly steers Hector and Nora into a conspiracy to gain access.

Also, are there unnecessary but welcome sparks between Hector and Nora? Of course.
