The chapter unfolds with Symphony — still masquerading as Asta Evansdottir — and Nora's frantic attempt to save the injured Lady Merchant. Symphony tries to gather information from Lady Merchant while Nora treats her wound. Despite their efforts, Lady Merchant's condition remains critical, prompting Symphony to send a guard to fetch the Larkwin - a kind of in-world doctor.

Behind the veil, Sisi Wei — Symphony’s player — is making several medicine checks that determine the Lady Merchant's lucidity and survival chances.

As Nora stitches the wound, Lady Merchant reveals fragmented information about what it is that Osment knew.
