The Script // Amanuensis • Chapter Seven :: Part Two
Symphony and Nora trade a fated promise in return for the information they need
Well met, rogues,
“Amanuensis” is an assistant who takes dictation, and this episode is the first I broke open a dictionary to find its title.
There is a scene in this episode, which is going to be the sixth of the season, where Symphony makes Nora assume a role. I had in my mind Cyrano de Bergerac, who hides under Roxane’s balcony and feeds Christian de Neuvilette lines.
Summary
There are spoilers below.
Arm in arm, Nora and Symphony persuade the guards at Brissig’s Watch to give them an audience with the rogue they’d captured the night before. Any hour, now, the Byrigthegn and his Kindlinger will come by and hang this criminal - so they don’t have much time.
The rogue, who is called Eberhart, is in “the bird cage,” an open-air cell at the top of the three-story watch where he must await his sentence, exposed to the elements.
With some difficulty, Symphony and Nora trade a fated promise in return for the information they need.
