New cover art, a spruced-up feed, and a website
When folks find the show on Spotify, that list of episodes is their first impression.
When Evo Terra listed "The Thief" in his newsletter about audio drama finales called "The End," he offered advice about the usability of our feed. That is, when folks find the show on Spotify, that list of episodes is their first impression.
I had already gone through the feed a while ago and reorganized episodes from "Episode Seven :: Something" to chapters. I really like this approach, but Evo had mentioned that a title like "Chapter Three • Part Two :: Something Here" buries the lede.
So, I went through everything, cleaned up some of the descriptions, and put the actual title of the episode first. The effect is nice.
Discoverability is hard and latel, I've been enjoying the benefits of some discovery tools baked into Substack.
"The Thief" has never had a proper website, and http://thiefpodcast.com only ever redirected to its Spotify listening. So, I started building up a place for it over here.
It does the trick, but my impeccable timing meant that Substack suddenly got into hot water for platforming some dorks, so we'll see how long this lasts. For now, it serves.
Substack prompts new visitors to subscribe, and since this page was otherwise super empty I added a portrait of Symphony I'd been sitting on as the cover art. This seemed like a good time to change the cover art everywhere.
Finally, I went and cleaned up the Patreon. Patreon includes collections now which make it a little easier to navigate between episodes, companion podcasts, and other things, so I tried to make that as user-friendly as possible.
I have made some decisions about this Patreon and the schedule for season two, but I need a few things to shake out before I announce them.
You're the bomb,
